Cascade Brewer’s Guild Donates Cascade Brewer’s Cup/ExBeerience Proceeds to Childhaven

The 2010 Cascade Brewer’s Cup and ExBeerience Festival was resounding success. Great commercial beers were poured along side homebrew from five different Puget Sound area homebrew clubs to an over capacity crowd of beer enthusiasts at Redhook Brewery. Club members Jim Dunlap, Joel Engel, Guy Sutherland and Bob Zormeir each had multiple beers place in the Cascade Brewer’s Cup competition. Jim’s bohemian pilsner, Ceske Light, took home second place Best-of-Show. Club members Mike and Steve Brown took home the 2009 Washington Homebrewer of the Year Award, and also won the Bert Grant Competition for the second straight year.

As in the past, the Club has used these events to help out a local charity. This year we donated most of the proceeds to the charity, Childhaven. Club President, Mike Brown, had the honor of attending Childhaven’s annual meeting on April 29^th, where he presented a check for $3400 to Debra Ronnholm, President of Childhaven.

Such a generous donation would not have been possible without the help of numerous club members volunteering their time and effort to pull both events off. Congratulations to all of you on a job well done!
